A solution of copper sulphate was stored in an iron container. After a few days, some holes were seen in the iron container. Explain the observation.

Iron lies above copper in the activity series which means iron is more reactive than copper. Hence, copper is displaced by iron from copper sulphate solution. Iron gets dissolved in copper sulphate solution, reating holes in the container.
