Which of these substances in most likely a metal and why ?

A is a metal. Metals have a high melting point and they are good conductors of electricity in both solid and molten form B has a high melting point but it does not conduct electricity in solid form. C is a poor conductor of electricity and D has a low melting point and is poor conductor of electricity hence, only A can be a metal.
