Rohit has performed an activity to test whether the following materials conduct electricity or not by putting them in the circuit, one at a time as shown in the figure.

Materials X and Y could be

A

X-1,3,4,6, Y-2,5

B

X-1,5,6, Y-2,3,4

C

X-1,3,6, Y-2,4,5

D

X-2,3,4,5, Y-1,6

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

Metals are good conductor of electricity e.g., aluminium foil, copper wire and silver coin. Non-metals are poor conductor of electricity e.g., a piece of stone, sulphur, except graphite which is a good conductor of electricity.
