How do you get the flame in the candle?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When the candle burns, the wax around the wick melts and vaporizes because the molten wax rises upward through the wick. The vapours burn in air and this produces a flame. Thus, the combustible substance and the supporter of combustion both are in gaseous state. In case of a candle flame, the wax vapour and the oxygen of air are in gaseous state. Hence, when a combustible substance is in vapour state and burns, it produces flame.
