Why do HCl, `HNO_(3)`, etc., show acidic characters in aqueous solutions while solutions of compounds like alcohol and glucose do not show acidic character?

HCl and `HNO_(3)` produce `H_((aq))^(+)` ions in aqueous solution , which is responsible for their acidic character .
`HCl_((aq))toH_((aq))^(+)+Cl_((aq))^(-)`
`HNO_(3(aq))toH_((aq))^(+)+NO_(3(aq))^(-)`
Alcohol `(C_(2)H_(5)OH)` and glucose `(C_(6)H_(12)O_(6))` are covalent compounds and they do not undergo dissociation in aqueous solution .This is evident from the fact that their aquenous solutions do not conduct electricity .Hence , the aqueous solutions of alcohol and glucose do not show acidic character even though they contain hydrogen atoms .
