The mass of an empty bucket of capacity 10 litres is 1 kg. Find its mass when completely filled with a liquid of relative density 0.8.

Here , a mass of the empty bucket,
`m=1kg`
Volume of the bucket,
`V=10` litres `=10xx10^(-3)m^(3)=10^(-2)m^(3)`
(`m^(3)=10^(3)` litres)
Relative density of the liquid,
`R.D.=0.8`
As `R.D.=("density of liquid")/("density of water "("at" 4^(@)C))`
`0.8=(d)/(1000kg//m^(3))`
or `d=0.8xx100kg//m^(3)=800kg//m^(3)`
Mass of the liquid in the bucket,
`M=vxxd=(10^(-2)m^(3))xx(800kg//m^(3))`
`=8kg`
Total mass of the bucket
`=m+M=1kg+8kg=9kg`
