A bottle weighs 30 g when empty, 53.4 g when filled with a liquid and 48 g when filled with water, Calculate the density of the liquid, Given density of water at `4^@C=1000(kg)/(m^3)`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Here, mass of empty bottle `=30g`
mass of bottle filled with liquid `=53.4g`
mass of bottle filled with water `=48g`
mass of liquid `=53.4g-30g=23.4g`
mass of an equal volume of water `=48g-30g=18g`
Relative density of liquid, `RD=(23.4g)/(18g)=1.3`
Density of liquid `=RDxx` density of water at `4^(@)C`
`1.3xx1000=1300kg//m^(3)`
