What are the rules that should be followed to make the accurate measurement with scale?

While measuring length,
(a) the ruler should be placed exactly along the length.
(b) the position of the observer.s eye should be exactly above the point where the measurement is to be made.
(c) the zero-mark shouldn.t be used if the ends are worn out. Any other full mark should be used.
