Why don't we use same SI unit for measuring the lengths of different objects or the distances between various objects?

Because making calculations with very large or very small numbers becomes very difficult and cannot be expressed conveniently. So, multiples of standard units are used for large measurements and fractions of standard units are used for small measurements.
