State the reasons due to which a bulb may get fused .

When the filament of a bulb is broken , then there is a break in the path of the electric current . As no current can pass through the filament , the bulb does not glow and is called a fused bulb .
Following are the reasons due to which the filament of a bulb breaks :
(i) vibrations in the bulb due to rough handling .
(ii) if too much current overloads the capacity of the filament .
(iii) turning the light on and off frequently .
