How will you show that an object is an electric conductor or an insulator ?

We will need to make a simple tester first Attach wires to two paper clips .These act as the probes of our tester .Connect the probes to a bulb and battery circuit as shown in the figure .Bring the probes together , the bulb will glow .Now , place both the probes on common household objects , such as a spoon , a key an eraser , a crayon a comb , a piece of aluminium foil , salt solution in a bowl and so on .Some of the household objects are shown in figure .Also sharp both ends of a pencil cna place the probes in contact with the head at the two ends . If the bulb glows , the material is a conductor , i.e., it allows electricity to flow through it .If the bulb does not glow , it means that the material is an isulator , i .e ., it does not allow an electric current to flow through it .
