What happens if a magnet is broken into two pieces?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

If a magnet is broken into two pieces, each part becaomes a magnet with two poles, i.e., north pole and south pole. Magnetic poles always exist in pairs and an isolated pole, either north pole or south pole, cannot exist.
