` 4FeS_2 + 11 O_2 to 2 Fe_2 O_3 + 8 SO_2`
Step II : Oxidation of Sulphur dioxide into sulphur trioxide
` 2SO_2 +O_2 (g) overset(V_2 O_5)to 2SO_3`
Step III : To form Oleum
` SO_3 + H_2 SO_4 to H_2 S_2 O_7`
Step IV: Dilution of Oleum with water
` H_2 S_2 O_7 +H_2 O to H_2 SO_4`
