Explain forward biasing briefly.

Text Solution

Forward biasing : When P-region of the Junction diode is connected to positive terminal and N-region is attached to negative terminal of the battery then the Junction diode said to be forward biased. In such biasing current flows due to majority charge carriers and majority charge carrier in the both regions are pushed through the junction. The depletion region width decreases and junction diode offers low resistance. The resistance is low hence large current flows through circuit.
