Explain Reverse biasing briefly....

Explain Reverse biasing briefly.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When P-region is connected to negative and N-region is connected to positive terminal of a battery then junction diode is reverse biased. In such biasing, majority charge carrier in both the regions are pushed away from the Junction. The depletion width increases while offer high resistance. Due to high resistance in circuit, small current flows from circuit.
