What is meant by retar-dation ?

Explanation

When the velocity of a decreases with time then its final velocity is less than initial velocity. So them its final velocity is less than the initial velocity. So, its acceleration is negative. Negative acceleration is called retardation or deacceleratio.
Example : When brakes are applied to a moving car its velocity gradually decreases. Under these conditions the car is under retardation.
