In this case following chemical reaction occurs.
`2H_2O(l) rarr 2H_2(g) + O_2(g)`
Therefore, volume of hydrogen gas obtained is double thari that of oxygen gas. That is why the amount of gas is double in one of the test tubes. This gas is hydrogen gas.
