Mass of bullet, m = 10 g
`=(10)/(1000)kg=0.01kg`
Intial velocity of the bullet, u = 0
Final velocity of the bullet with which it leaves the barrel 0of the gun, v = 300 m/s
Time taken, t = 0.003 s
Let acceleration of the bullet in the barrel = a
`therefore` Using `v=u+at` we have
`300=0+axx0.03=0.03a`
or `a=(300)/(0.03)m//s^2`
`=(300)/3xx1000=100000m//s^2`
Let force exerted by the rifle on the bullet = F
`therefore` Using F = ma, we get
`F=0.01xx100000N`
`=1/(100)xx100000N`
=1000 N
