Given : `P_(1) = 9.5 xx 10^(5) N m^(-2) , V_(1) = 1.5 L , V_(2) = 1.0 L , P_(2) = `?
From Boyle.s law equation `P_(1) V_(1) = P_(2) V_(2)`
`P_(2) = (P_(1) V_(1))/(V_(2)) = (9.5 xx 10^(5) N m^(-2) xx 1.5 L)/(1.0 L) = 14.25 xx 10^(5) N m^(-2)`
`therefore` Additional pressure required = `14 . 25 xx 10^(5) N m^(-2) - 9.5 xx 10^(5) N m^(-2) = 4.75 xx 10^(5) N m^(-2)`
