A gas cylinder can withstand a pressure ...

A gas cylinder can withstand a pressure of `14.5 atm`. A pressure gauge connected to it reads `11.5atm` at `30^(@)C`. What is the maximum temperature that the cylinder can withstand without exploding?

Given : `P_(1) = 11.5` atm , `T_(1) = (273 + 30) = 303^(@) C , P_(2) = 14.5` atm , `T_(2)= `?
By Gay Lussac.s law , `(P_(1))/(T_(1)) = (P_(2))/(T_(2)) implies T_(2) = (P_(2) T_(1))/(P_(1)) = (14.5 "atm " xx 303 K)/(11.5 "atm") = 382 K (109^(@) C)`
