Resonance is a phenomenon in which a single molecule can be represented by different structures. Each structure cannot explain all the properties of the molecule. Therefore the actual structure is in between these different contributing structures. This actual structure is known as resinance hybrid structure.
for example, Benzene molecule is a resonance hybrid of the following two main contributing structures.
