The uses of hydrogen peroxide are as follows:
i) It can be used as a hair bleach and mild disinfectant in our daily life. It is sold in the market as perhydrol as an antiseptic. ii) It is used to manufacture various chemicals, which are used in high quality detergents. iii) It is used in synthesis of hydroquinone, tartaric acid and certain food products and . pharmaceuticals. iv) It is used in environmental chemistry. For example, hydrogen peroxide is used in pollution control treatment of domestic and industrial effluents. v) It is used in the industries as bleaching agent for leather, textiles etc.
