Why hcp and ccp are preferred over bcc packing ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

hep and eep are called as close packing because they occupy maximum space (74%) of the available volume and empty space is only 26%. But in case of bee, only 68% of available space is a·ccupied The remaining space (32%) forms voids. !fherefore, hep and cep are preferred over bee packing.
