a) 12 - 16 compounds
i) Elements of group 12 and 16 yield some solid compound by combination which are called as 12 -16 compounds for example ZnS, CdS, CdSe etc.
ii) In these compounds bonds have ionic character.
b) 13 - 15 compound
i) Solid state materials produced by combination of elements of groups 13 and 15 celled 13-15 compounds.
ii) For example ATP, GaAs etc.
