Discuss the preparation of ozone by Sieman's Ozoniser.

Ozone can be prepared by passing silent electric discharge through pure, cold and dry oxygen in an apparatus known as Siemen.s ozoniser.

Siemen.s ozoniser consists of glass tubes sealed at one end. The inner and outer surface of the tube is coated with tin foil.
It acts as electrodes. There is an inlet for pure dry oxygen and an outlet for ozone formed. Silent electric discharge is passed through the stream of pure and dry oxygen present in the glass tubes. Oxygen get ozonised and changes to ozone.
