Acidic strength of oxyacids increases with decrease in atomic number. Electronegativity of the halogen atoms decreases in the order Cl > Br > I. More is the electronegativity, greater will be its electron attracting tendency. Hence, `H^(+)` ion will be-- released easily. So, increasing order of their acidic strength is HIO < HBrO < HClO. Also
