Define resolution of a vector. A force of 4 N makes an angle `30^(@)` with x-axis. Find the x and y components of the force.

The prcoess of spliting given vector the components along given directions is known as resolution of vector
Let `vec F = 4 N` making angle angle `30^(@)` with x-axis.
`vec F` is represented bt `vec (OP)` such that ` |vec F| = | vec (OP)|`
and `angle POQ = 30^(@).`
Suppose components of `vec F` along x -axis and y-axis
be x and y respectively.
From tringle POQ, we have
`x = | vec (OQ)| = |vec (OP)| cos 30^(@) = 4 cos 30^(@) = ( 4 sqrt3)/( 2) = 2 sqrt3 N`
`y = | vec (PQ)| = | vec (OP)| sin 30^(@) = 4 sin 30^(@) = (4)/(2) = 2 N`
