A man of mass 60 kg runs up a flight of 30 steps in 40 second. If each step is 20 cm high, calculate the power of the man. (Given `g = 10 m s^(-2)`)

Text Solution

We are given: `m = 60 kg, t = 40 s `
`g = 10 ms^(-2)`
k = Number of steps Height of one step = `30 xx 20 cm = 600 cm = 6m`
We are to calculate, power (P)
Using relation: `P = W/t (mgh)/(t)` we have `P = (60 xx 10 xx 6)/(40) = 90 W`
