Why is invar used in making a clock pendulum ?

Clock pendulum is made up of invar , because it has small coefficient of expansion . Therefore length of pendulum does not change with change in temperature .As time period of pendulum depends upon the length of the pendulum , so time period of pendulum is not affected by change is temperature .
