Show that phase difference between
displacement and acceleration is `pi` radians in SHM.

Text Solution

Now acceleration of the particle is given by
`a=(dv)/(dt)=(d)/(dt)(Aomegacos omegat)=-Aomega^(2)sin omegat`.
or `a=A omega^(2)sin(omegat+pi)" "[-sinomegat=-(omegat+pi)]` . .. (iii)
From equation (i) and (iii) it is clear that phase difference between displacement and acceleration is `pi`.
