Assertion : Both rhombic and monoclinic ...

Assertion : Both rhombic and monoclinic sulphur exist as `S_8` but oxygen exists as `O_2`. Reason : Oxygen forms `p pi -p pi` multiple bond due to small size and small bond length but `p pi -p pi` bonding is not possible in sulphur.

A st. line is drawn through the point P(sqrt3 ,2) making an angle of pi/6 with positive direction of the x-axis. If meets the st. line sqrt3x-4y+8=0 in Q, find the length of [PQ].

The volume of a liquid flowing out per second of pipe of length l and radeius r is wrteen by a student as v = (pi P r ^4)/(8 eta l) where P is the pressure difference between the two ends of the pipe and eta is coefficent of viscosity of the liquid having dimensional formula ML^-1T^-1 Check whether the equation is dimensionally correct.

A vessel ABCD of 10 cm width has two small slits S_(1) and S_(2) sealed with idebtical glass plates of equal thickness. The distance between the slits is 0.8 mm. POQ is the line perpendicular to the plane AB and passing through O, the middle point of S_(1) and S_(2) . A monochromatic light source is kept at S, 40 cm below P and 2 m from the vessel, to illuminate the slits as shown in the figure. Calculate the position of the central bright fringe on the other wall CD with respect of the line OQ. Now, a liquid is poured into the vessel and filled up to OQ. The central bright fringe is fiund to be at Q. Calculate the refractive index of the liquid.
