Bottles containing C6H5I and C6H5CH2I lo...

Bottles containing `C_6H_5I` and `C_6H_5CH_2I` lost their original labels. They were labelled as A and B for testing. A and B were separately taken in test tubes and boiled with NaOH solution. The end solution in each tube was made acidic with dilute `HNO_3` and some `AgNO_3` solution was added. Substance B gave a yellow precipitate. Which one of the following statements is true for this experiment ?

A

Addition of `HNO_3` was unnecessary

B

A was `C_6H_5I`

C

A was `C_6H_5CH_2I`

D

B was `C_6H_5I`

Three beakers labelles as A, B and C each containing 25 mL of water were taken. A small amount of NaOH, anhydrous CuSO_4 and NaCl were added to the breakers A, B and C respectively. It was observed that there was an increase in the temperature of the solutions containers in beaker A, and B, where in case of beaker C, the temperature of the solution falls. Which one of the following statements(s) is(are) correct? (i) In beaker A and B, exothermic process has occured. (ii)In beaker A and B, endothermic process has occured. (iii) In beaker C exothermic process as occured. (iv) In beaker C endothermic process has occured.

Two beakers of capcatity 500 mL were taken one of these beakers labelled as "A" was filled with 400 mL water whereas the beaker labelled "B" was filled with 400 mL of 2 M solution of NaCl. At the same temperature both the beakers were placed in close containers of same material and same capacity as shown in the figure given below: At a given temperature, whihc of the following statement is correct about the vapour pressure of pure water and that of NaCl solution.

Rekha took two solutions, 10 mL each separately in two test tubes, A and B. The solutions were of FeSO_4 and Al_2(SO_4)_3 respectively. The colours of the two solutions were:

Four test tubes A,B,C and D contain solutions of pH 3.0, 5.0, 6.0 and 6.5. Arrange these in decreasing order of acidic characters

Four test tubes A,B,C and D contain solutions of pH 3.0, 5.0, 6.0 and 6.5. Arrange these in decreasing order of H_3O^(+)ions

Four test tubed marked I,II,III and IV were taken 20 ml of Al_2(SO_4)_3 solution in water was poured in each of the test tube I, an iron nails was put in test tube II, copper turnings were put in test tube III and a clean aluminium strip was placed in test tube IV. No change was observed in any four any in the test tubes. the correct inference drawn is

At some temperature the vapour pressure of pure benzene, C_(6) H_(6) is 0 . 256 bar and vapour pressure of toluene, C_(6) H_(5) CH_(3) is 0 . 0 925 bar, if the mole fraction of toluene in a solution is 0 . 60 (i) What is the total vapour pressure of the solution ? (ii) Calculate the composition of the vapour phase in terms of mole fraction.
