The largest standing army of the Delhi sultanate was created by one of the most powerful rulers of the Khalji dynasty, Alauddin Khilji. Allauddin was born as Ali Girsasp who succeeded Jalaluddin, his uncle, to become the next ruler of the Khalji dynasty.
