Two beakers A and B contain iron sulphate solution. In beaker A, a small piece of copper and in beaker B in a small piece of zinc are placed. It is found that after some time a grey deposite forms on zinc but not on copper. From these observations it can be concluded that:

A

Zinc is most active metal followed by iron and then copper

B

Zinc is most active metal followed by copper and then iron.

C

Iron is most active metal followed by zinc and then copper.

D

Iron is most active metal followed by copper and then zinc.

A thin plate of zinc metal is placed in a beaker containing aqueous ferrous sulphate solutiohn. The zinc plate is taken out after 15 mins. The colour is solutions changes to:

Three beakers labelles as A, B and C each containing 25 mL of water were taken. A small amount of NaOH, anhydrous CuSO_4 and NaCl were added to the breakers A, B and C respectively. It was observed that there was an increase in the temperature of the solutions containers in beaker A, and B, where in case of beaker C, the temperature of the solution falls. Which one of the following statements(s) is(are) correct? (i) In beaker A and B, exothermic process has occured. (ii)In beaker A and B, endothermic process has occured. (iii) In beaker C exothermic process as occured. (iv) In beaker C endothermic process has occured.

Three conductivity cells A, B and C containing solutions of zinc sulphate, silver nitrate and copper sulphate respectively are connected in series. A steady current of 1.5 amperes is passed through them until 1.45 g of silver is deposited at the cathode of cell B. How long did the current flow ? What mass of copper and what mass of zinc got deposited in their respective cells ? (Atomic mass : Zn = 65.4 u, Ag = 108 u, Cu = 63.5 u)

Three electrolytic cells A,B and C containing electrolyses of zinc sulphate, silver nitrate and copper sulphate respectively were connected in series. A steady current of 1.50 amp was passed through them until 1.45g of silver were deposited at the cathode of cell B. HOw long did the current flow?

• Take three iron nails and clean them by rubbing with sand paper. • Take two test tubes marked as (A) and (B). In each test | tube, take about 10 ml copper sulphate solution. • Tie two iron nails with a thread and immerse them 'carefully in the copper sulphate solution in test tube B for about 20 minutes [Fig. (a)]. Keep one iron nail aside for comparison. • After 20 minutes, take out the iron nails from the copper sulphate solution. • Compare the intensity of the blue colour of copper sulphate solutions in test tubes (A) and (B) (Fig. (b)]. Also, compare the colour of the iron nails dipped in the copper sulphate solution with the one kept aside [Fig. - (b)]. On the basis of activity , give the answers of th following questions : What is the colour of copper sulphat solution in test tube A ?

Two beakers of capcatity 500 mL were taken one of these beakers labelled as "A" was filled with 400 mL water whereas the beaker labelled "B" was filled with 400 mL of 2 M solution of NaCl. At the same temperature both the beakers were placed in close containers of same material and same capacity as shown in the figure given below: At a given temperature, whihc of the following statement is correct about the vapour pressure of pure water and that of NaCl solution.
