If `vecA,vecB,vecC` are mutually perpendicular show that `vecCxx(vecAxxvecB)=0`. Is the converse true?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given that, `vecA.vecB and vecC` are mutually perpendicular `vecAxxvecB` is a vector with direction perpendicular to their plane containing `vecA and vecB`

Angle between` vecC` and `vecAxxvecB` is `0^@` or `180^@` .
So, `vecC(vecAxxvecB)=0` The converse is not true. For example, if two of the vectors are parallel [ 2]
then else `vecCxx(vecAxxvecB)=0` So, they need not be mutually perpendicular.
