Calculate the tension in the string shown in figure. The pulley and the string are light and all surfaces are frictionless. Take g=10 m/`s^2`.

`M_1` should be at rest, `T-mg=T/2 -2g-2a_1=0`
`rarr T=m_1g` …..i.
and `T/2-3g+3g_1=0`

`rarr T-4g-4a_1=0` …………..ii
`T=6g-6a_1` ………..iii.
From equations ii and iii we get
3T-12g=12g-2T`
`rarr T= (24g)/5= 4.8 g`,
Putting the gvalue of T is equation i. we get,
`m_K1 =4.8 kg`
