A block weighing 10 N tavels down a smooth curved track AB joined to a rough horizontal surface. The rough surface has a friction coeficient of 0.20 with the block. If the block starts slipping on the track from a point 1.0 m above the horizontal surace, how far will it move on the rough surface?

`mg=10N, mu=0.2, H=1m,u=v=0`
Change in P.E =work done to increse K.E.
`rarr W=mgh=10xx1=10J`
Again on the horizontal suface the frictioN/Al force
`F=muR=mumg=10xx1=10J`
So, the K.e. is used to overcome friction.
`rarr S=W/F=(10J)/(2N)=5m`

Figure shows two block A and B , each having a mass of 320 g connected by a light string passing over a smooth light pulley. The horizontal surface on which the block A can slide is smooth.
