The correct Answer is:
A, B

From initial frame of reference when we see the (man wheel) systm we can find that the wheel moving a speed of and the man with `(w+v/R)` after the man has started walking.
`omega^1=angualr velocity after walking)`
`omega=angular velocity of the wheel before walking)
Since `^^Ei=0`
Extended torque =0
therefore
`(I+mR^2)omega=Iomega^1=Iomega^1+mR^2(omega^1+v/R)`
`rarr (I+mR^2)omega=Iomega^1+mR^2(omega^1+v/R)`
`rarr (I+mR^2)omega-MvR`
`=(1+mR^2)omega^1`
`rarr omega^I1=((I+MR^2)omega-MvR)/(I+MR^2)`

Suppose the platform of the previous problem is brought to rest with the ball in tehhad of the kid standin on the rim. The kid throuws the ball horizontaly to his friend in a direction tangentiasl to the rim with a speed v as seen by his friend. Find the angular velocity wilth which the platform will start rotating.

Two small bals A and B, each of mass m, are joined rigidlyl by a light horizontal rol of lengh L. The rod is clasmped at the centre in such a way that it c an rotate freely about a verticl axis through its centre. The systemis rotated with an angualr speed omega about the axis. A particle P of masss m kept at rest sticks to the ball A as the ball collides with it. Find the new angular speed of the rod.

A kid of mass M stands at the edge of a platform of radius R which can be freely rotated about its axis. The moment of inertia of the platform is I . The system is at rest when a friend throws as ball of mass m and the kid catches it. If the velocity of the ball is v horizontally along the tangent to the edge of the platform when it was caught by the kid find the angular speed of the platform after the event.

Shows a conducting circular loop radius a placed in a uniform, perpendicular magnetic field B. A metal rod OA is pivoted at the centre O of the loop. The other A of the rod touches the loop. The rod OA and the loop are resistanceless but a resistor having a resistance R is connected between O and a fixed point C on the loop . the rod OA is made to rotate anticlockwise at a small but uniform angular speed omega by an external force. Find (a) the current in the resistance R and (b) the torque of the external force needed ot keep the rod rotating with the constant angular velocity omega.

A dumb bell consists of two identicasl small balls offmss 1/2 kg each connected to the ends of a 50 cm long light rod. The dumb bell is rotating about a fixed axis through the centre of the rod and perpendicular to it t an angular speed of 10 rad/s. An impulsive force of average magnitude 5.0 N acts on one of the masses in the direction of its velocity for 0.10s. Find the new angular velocity of the system.
