The electric field at distance x from the centre of ring is
` E=Q/(4piepsilon_0(R^2+X^2)^(3/2))…..(i) `
For maximum value of electric field
` (dE)/dx=0 `
From equation(i),
` (dE)/dx=Q/(4piepsilon_0) `
` [1(R^2+X^2)^(3/2)-x.3/2(R^2+x^2)^(1/2).2x]=0 `
` or R^2+x^2-3x^2=0 `
` or 2x^2=R^2 `
` :.x=R/sqrt2 `
