A 10 g bullet having a charge of `4.00 muC` is fired at a speed of `270 ms^(-1)` in a horizontal direction. A vertical magnetic field of `500 muT` exists in the space. Find the deflection of the bullet due to the magnetic field as it travels through 100m. make appropriate approximations.

We know ,
` F = q (V xx B) `
` ma = qVB `
`a = (qVB )/(m) `
Time taken to travel 100 m distance in horizontal
` t = (S) /(v) = (100)/(270) sec `
So in this time interval bullet deflection is
` y = (1)/(2) at ^2`
` (1) /(2) xx (400 xx 10 ^(-6) xx 270 xx 500 xx 10 ^(-6) ) /(10 xx 10^(-3) ) xx (( 100)/(270)) ^2 `
` 3.7 xx 10 ^(-6) m `
