Given ` t = 100 years `
` V = 60 / 100 d. C = 0.6 C . `
` Delta t = 1 / (sqrt 1- V^(2) / c^(2))`
`= 100 v / (sqrt 1 -(0.6)^(2) c^(2) / c^(2))`
`= 100y / 0.8 = 125 y` .

When a person leaves his home for sightseeing by his car, the meter reads 12352 km. When he returns home after two hours the reading is 12416 km. A. What is the average speed of the car during this period? B. What is the average velocity?

a. The top of the atmosphere is at about 400 kV with respectto the surface of the earth, corresponding to an electric field that decreases with altitude. Near the surface of the earth, the field is about 100 Vm^(-1). Why then do we not get a electric shock as we step out of our house into the openy (Assume the house to be a steel cage so there is no field inside!) b. A man fixes outside his house one evening a two metre high insulating slab carrying on its top a large aluminium sheet of area 1m^(2) . Will he get an electric shock if he touches the metal sheet next morning? c. The discharging current in the atmosphere due to the small conductivity of air is known to be 1800A on an average over the globe. Why then does the atmosphere not discharge itself completely in due course and become electrically neutral? In other words, what keeps the atmosphere charged? d. What are the forms of energy into which the electrical energy of the atmosphere is dissipated during a lightning? (Hint: The earth has an electric field of about 100 Vm^(-1) at its surface in the downward direction, corresponding to a surface charge density =-10^(-9) Cm^(-2) ?.

Figure shows a man of mass 60 kg standing on a light weighting machine kept in a box of mass 30 kg. The box is hanging from a pulley fixed to the ceiling through a light rope, the other end of which is held by the man himself. If the man manages to keep the box at rest, what is the weight shown by the machine? What force should he exert on the rope to get his correct weight on the machine?

A person travels by a car at a speed of 180 kmh^(-1) . It takes exactly 10 hours by his wristwatch to go from the station A to the station B . (a) What is the rest distance between the two stations ? (b) How much is taken in the road frame by the car to go from the station A to the station B?

A person travelling by a car moving at 100 km h^(-1) finds that his wristwatch agress with the clock in a tower A. By what amount will his wristwatch lag or lead the clock on another tower B, 1000km (in the earth's frame ) from the tower A when the car reaches there?

An amateur astronomer wishes to estimate roughly the size of the Sun using his crude telescope consisting of an objective lens of focal length 200 cm and an eyepiece of focal length 10 cm. By adjusting the distance of the eyepiece from the objective, he obtains an image of the Sun on a screen 40 cm behind the eyepiece. the diameter of the sun's image is measured to be 6.0 cm. What is his estimate of the Sun's size given that the average Earth-sun distance is 1.5 xx 10^(11) m ?
