Given ` X = 1 cm `
` = 1 xx 10^(-2) m,`
` K = 500 N/m , m 200 g `
Energy stored `= 1/2 Kx^(2) `
` = 1 / 2 xx 500 xx 10^(-4)`
` = 0.25 J`
Increasein mass `= 0.025 / c^(2) = 0.025 / 9 xx 10^(16)`
Fractional Change of mass `= 0.025 / 9 xx 10^(16) xx 1 / 2 xx 10^(-1) `
` = 0.01388 xx 10^(-6) `
` = 1.4 xx 10^(-18) ` .

A block of mass 250g is kept on a vertical spring of spring constant 100N/m fixed from below. The spring is now compressed to have a length 10cm shorter than its natural length and the system is released from this position. How high does the block rise? take g=10 m/s^2 .

2.00 mole of a monatomic ideal gas (U=1.5nRT) is enclosed in an adiabatic, fixed , vertical cylinder fitted with a smooth, light adiabatic piston. The piston is connected to a vertical spring of spring constant 200 N m^(-1) as shown in .the area of cross section of the cylinder is 20.0 cm^(2) . initially, the spring is at its natural length and the temperature of the gas is 300K at its natural length. the atmosphere pressure is 100 kPa. the gas is heated slowly for some time by means of an electric heater so as to move the position up through 10 cm. find (a) the work done by the gas (b) the final temperature of the gas and (c ) the heat supplied by the heater.

Two equal masses are attached to the two ends of a spring of spring constant k. The masses are pulled out symmetrically to stretch the spring by a length x over its natural length. The work done by the spring one each mass is

A block of mass m is pushed against a spring of spring constant k fixed at the end to a wall. The block can side on a frictionless table as shown in figure. The natural length of the spring is L_0 and it is compressed ti half its natural length when the block is relesed. Find teh velocity of the block aa s function of its distance x from the wall .

The pulley shown in figure has a radius of 20 cm and moment of inertial 0.2 kg-m^2. The string going over it is attached at one end to a vertical sprign of spring constant 50 N/m fixed from below and supports a 1 kg mas at other end. The system is released from rest with the spring at its natural length. Find the speed of the block when it has desceds through 10 cm. Take g=10 m/s^2 .
