A battery of emf 10Vand internal resistance 3`Omega` is connected to a resistor.If the current in the circuit is 0.5A, what is the resistance of the resistor ? What is the terminal voltage ot the battery when the circuit is clossed ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

E=10V,r=3`Omega`,I=0.5A, E=V+Ir=IR+Ir
`R=(E-Ir)/(I)=(10-0.5xx3)/(0.5)=(8.5)/(0.5)=7Omega`
V=IR+0.5`xx`17=8.5V
