The circuit is redrawn as follows.
Y is the equivalent resistance. Adding the resistance values of these resistors will not change the value of "Y" being infinite resistors.
`thereforeY=R+(Y"||"R)+R=R+(YR)/(Y+R)+R=2R+(YR)/(T+R)`
R=`1Omega thereforeY=2+(Y)/(1+Y)`
i.e.,(1+Y)Y=2(1+Y)+Y
`Y^(2)`+Y-2-2Y-Y=0
`Y^(2)`-2Y-2=0

Y cannot be negative `thereforeY=2.732Omega`
current drawn,`I=(E)/(Y+r)=(12)/(2.732+0.5)=3.71A`
