`0.1` M MaCl solution is placed in two different cells having cell constant `0.5" and "0.25 cm^(-1)` respectively. Which of the two will have greater value of specific conductance.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`k = "cell constant"/"resistance"`
= conductance `xx` cell constant
Specific conductance is directly proportional to conductance.
`^^ = (k xx 1000)/M`
Lesser the value of M, greater the value of `^^` and hence greater the value of k .
