Superposition principle states that total force acting on a given charge is equal to the vector sum of forces exerted on it by all the other charges.
Let us consider a system of charges namely `q_1 , q_2,q_3 …….q_n`. The force on `q_1` exerted by the charge q.
`vecF_(12) = k (q_1q_2)/(r_(21)^(2)) hatr21`
`vecF_(13) =k (q_1q_3)/(r_(31)^2) hatr_(31)`
Hence total force acting on the charge `q_1` due to all other charges is given by
`vecF_1 "tot" = vecF_(12) +vecF_(13)+.......+vecF_("in")`
`vecF_1"tot"= k{(q_1q_2)/(r_(21)^2)hatr_(21)+(q_1q_2)/(r_(31)^2)hatr_(31)+.........+ (q_1q_n)/(r_(nl))hatr_(nl)}`
