Why is the circulation in man referred to as double circulation ?

In human , blood passes twice through the heart to supply once to the body .
Double circulation involves : (I ) Systemic circilation , (ii ) Pulmonary circulation .
(I ) Systemic circulation : in ststermic circulation , from the left ventricle blood is pumped into the aorta and to various parts of the body .
(ii ) pulmonary circulation : In pulmonary circulation , from right ventricle deoxygenered blood is pumped into pulmonary artery which carries blood to the lungs for oxygenation .
