Who discovered RH factor ? Why was it named so ?

Landsteiner and Wiener discovered Rh factor of blood in 1940 . Rh factor is a protein CD antigen present on the the surface of the surface of the red blood cells in majority of humans , this protein is similar to the protein present in Rhesus monkey , hence the term Rh .
