Actinomycetes are also called .Ray fungi. due to their mycelia like growth. They are anaerobic or facultative anaerobic microorganisms and are gram positive. They do not produce an aerial mycelium. Their DNA contain high guanine and cytosine content (eg. Streptomyces).
