What are the parameters which control water potential ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Water potential `(Psi)` can be controlled by,
(i)Solute concentration or Solute potential `(Psi_(S))`.
(ii)Pressure potential `(Psi_(P))`.
By correlating two factors, water potential is written as ,`Psi_(W)=Psi_(S)+Psi_(P).`
Water potential=Solute potentiall +Pressure Potential.
